Should Joe the Plumber teach a course on how to be a REAL journalist?

EXCERPT:
'Samuel Wurzelbacher of Ohio, aka Joe the Plumber, arrived in Sderot at noon Sunday to show local and foreign reporters how to do it right.
“You should be ashamed of yourself,” he told foreign reporters.
“You should be patriotic, protect your family and children, not report like you have been doing for the past two weeks since this war has started,” he said.
Wurzelbacher, the man who stole the limelight from Republican presidential candidate John McCain during the American election campaign, has found a new job - as a correspondent for the Internet Web sites PJTV and Pajamas Media.
Armed with a camera and a temporary Government Press Office card, he got a taste of reality in Sderot, visiting a house hit by a Kassam rocket two weeks ago and experiencing a “Code Red” alert first-hand. He also observed and reported from the house where a Kassam landed on Sunday afternoon.
…”Do you think this is normal, the way you cover this conflict and give away information to your enemy?” he asked the journalists that gathered around him.
“It makes me sick to see the way you behave - you guys need to be protective of your homes, your children, your family.”
“I am angry,” he said, “and this is why I came here.”'

Perhaps some American mainstream reporters should register for the course.
Well he certainly has the right idea given the fact that many of our national security secrets have been discovered and released to the public by new organizations like the New York Times. But then, I guess that's what happens when you have nothing more than a journalism degree and a liberal arts education.
Talk soon,
Joe Beaven

Only journos I remember doing this are Geraldo while reporting for Fox News and Matt Drudge spreading gossip about Prince Harry's deployment location.

Yes, because everyone likes to be told what and how to do their jobs by an uneducated, untrained and ignorant person.
He shows up for one day and thinks he knows the real story, doesn't surprise me that he votes GOP.

It seems to me, according to your quotes, he is doing nothing other than interjecting opinion and nothing as to actual reporting…
I expect Joe to be illegally fixing Fox' toilets, in the future.

Unless we're talking about plunging something NOBODY CARES ABOUT JOE THE IDIOT. He's not even a licensed plumber. Maybe the conservative movement (or whatever is left of it) should get behind somebody other then an unlicensed plumber.
P.S. Did you mean "real journalists" like Geraldo of Fox News who broadcast US troop positions to the enemy? Maybe Joe should go teach them something at Fox.

I'm waiting for the punchline because this has to be a joke.
I've heard of having role models but to take a non-licensed plumber and to look up to him as if he is the next great thing is a hot mess.

Oh yes, because giving your opinion without thought for consequences automatically makes him a bang up reporter. Maybe Joe can instead teach a course about something he knows about. Like plumbing. Oops, that's right. He's not a licensed plumber. Maybe he can teach a course about tax codes. Oops, that's right. He doesn't even pay his own taxes.
Maybe Joe should teach a course on "How to Extend Your Pathetic 15 Minutes of Fame." Now THAT he knows something about.

Joe's form of journalism was also described in a movie…
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html
The press laid down and died in front of Bush, which is part of the reason why there was little opposition to Bush in his rush to war in Iraq. Advertisers friendly to Bush threatened news media outlets if they were critical of Bush in the run up to the war.
Under Joe's journalistic watch, all Republicans would get away with every form of crime ever thought of.
Joe the Plumber thinks that being a Christian gives him some exclusive form of wisdom that allows him to look down at the media.
Being a Christian and a journalist, I find him to be absolutely absurd, that he has NO IDEA what he's talking about.
Conducting journalism the way he wants would lead to the ***ABSOLUTE DOWNFALL*** of our society as we know it.
Joe the Plumber ought to be ashamed of himself.

Pajamas Media?? He said he went there because he was angry, did he? More likely someone paid his fare plus a few bucks all so that he can bask on the glow of the media spotlight, the very media is is criticizing and, temporarily, be a part of.
I wonder if anyone is honest enough with him to tell him what a fool he is making of himself.

LOL, well if the media is gonna push him out there what better way to react then join the team. It is good to see he is ready to speak his mind regardless. I also believe he has a good point America in reporters are just as guilty if you want to know the Achilles heal of a country just watch the 6pm news, they will tell you who , what, where, and when to hit them the hardest and cause the most pain. The media's loyalty lies with their ratings nothing more.
