   There is a huge skill shortage in Australia at the moment and we could probably benefit from those who have gained their skills in western countries as the standard of training and knowledge of safety guidelines etc…would be similar to our own. Throughout the country, particularly in the mining sectors qualified trades are in huge demand. In and around urban centres the demand for tradespeople is incredibly high as well. With the growth of regional centres that service the mining centres, there is huge demands for skilled tradespeople and you can expect to be paid very very high wages. Good luck!

   I live in a mining town, and there is a very high demand for tradesmen. Most of the men, try and get jobs in the mine. So there is a real lack of plumbers, builders, electricians, etc. Because they are hard to find up here, they are on good wages too. I had to wait over a month for a plumber and then he cancelled 3 times. If it were me, i would find a town that i was interested in moving to, and i would look up the phone numbers of some local plumbing companies and call them and see if they have any positions available. It will give you some kind of idea of the demand.
