I think I understand where they are coming from; playing devils advocate here. I believe people have become suspicious of his sudden endorsement of Obama because It doesn’t look good when you have been nothing but supportive of the republican agenda your entire life in congress, then change sides when someone of the same nationality as you takes center stage. It just doesn’t look right. But I do believe his reasons for endorsing Obama are legitimate because I think he is smarter than that.

BTW: Powell is a Republican, and a major one at that. Maybe that is the reason he’s never backed a Democrat. Also, after Bush’s failed administration, maybe he doesn’t want the next 4 yrs like the last 8. That’s why he didn’t back McCain.
